ABSTRACT: This study examines the influence of early childhood education on negotiation skills among young children. The research aims to assess how early educational experiences contribute to the development of negotiation skills, identify effective practices within early childhood education that enhance these skills, and evaluate the long-term benefits of early negotiation education. A survey design was selected for its effectiveness in gathering data from a diverse population. Using purposive sampling, 200 children from preschools in Lagos State, Nigeria, were chosen. The findings indicated that children exposed to structured negotiation activities demonstrated significant improvements in their negotiation skills. Techniques such as role-playing, collaborative problem-solving tasks, and guided discussions on conflict resolution were found to be particularly effective. It was recommended that early childhood education curricula incorporate these practices to foster negotiation skills from an early age.
